Dear Palm Parents,
Our students and our staff have been working hard to prepare for the STAAR test (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) and now the time has arrived. They have worked hard, and we are very proud of them. Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking the STAAR assessments beginning April 16th.
Below is the testing schedule:
- Tuesday, April 16 - 3rd, 4th, 5th Reading STAAR
- Wednesday, April 17 - 3rd, 4th, 5th Reading STAAR Day 2/Make Up Day
- Thursday, April 18 - 5th Science STAAR
- Thursday, April 25 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th Reading STAAR
- Friday, April 26- 3rd, 4th, and 5th Math STAAR Day 2/Make Up Day
It's crucial for students to be present and participate fully on these dates. We kindly request that you refrain from scheduling any appointments or taking your children out of school during this time. Please ensure your child gets ample rest the night before the test and starts the day with a nutritious breakfast. We'll also be providing healthy snacks during the testing period.
To maintain a secure testing environment, we will not be allowing visitors on campus on testing days. If you'd like to drop off lunch for your child, please leave it at the front office, and we'll ensure it's delivered to your student.
Lastly, remember that these tests gauge a student's readiness for the next grade level. It's essential that each student puts forth their best effort.
