Good afternoon Palm Families and Community Members,

As you may know, Austin ISD passed a historic $2.44 billion Bond a little over a year ago. This bond program will see the district address critical deficiencies at many of our campuses and modernizing several others.

Thank you to those of you who attended the October Palm PTA meeting where the Bond Implementation and Communications team presented an option that saw your campus be named as a swing space option for Langford Elementary. For anyone who may have missed that meeting, the presentation is now available.

After careful consideration of several scenarios, district leadership has decided to temporarily locate the school in portables at Palm during construction of the new school.

We know many of you may be unfamiliar with the experience of sharing your home, and we appreciate your continued openness and understanding as another school community joins your space. The Bond Implementation and Communications Team will be hosting two listening sessions on the following dates:

• Listening Session #1: Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. (Safety, Security, Site Circulation, Drills, Evacuation)
• Listening Session #2: Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. (Tree Grants, Outdoor Learning, Lessons Learned From 2017 Bond Swing Sites)

We look forward to hosting these sessions to share more information and include your feedback in our finalized plan to create a partnership between the Langford & Palm ES school communities.
